Course orientation held Saturday, May 31 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Subsequent classes held Tuesday evenings from 6:15-7:45 PM, beginning June 3.
Cost to Participate:
$95 per retriever
+ $100 refundable “performance” deposit
Deposit refundable upon your retriever passing an AKC Junior Hunt test

Train your AKC registered retriever to retrieve game birds and become a better hunting companion in the North Dakota Retriever Club’s 2025 Gun Dog Academy training course.
During the course, you’ll participate in a simulated duck hunt, mentored pheasant hunt, learn to clean game birds and enjoy a game bird dinner with your classmates!
By the end of the course, you should have a basic foundation of skills necessary to continue training your retriever to hunt and retrieve upland and waterfowl game birds and pass an AKC Junior Hunt Test.
Orientation for this 10 week course will be held on Saturday, May 31 and Tuesday night classes begin June 3.
You’ll Learn To Teach Your Retriever:
– single retrieves of game birds
– basic obedience
– introduction to birds, gunfire and water
The course will be limited to six participants and dogs must be AKC Registered to be admitted. Priority registration given to North Dakota Retriever Club Members. Non-members encouraged to inquire.
