Don’t have a dog? We’ll provide one for you.
Learn how to hunt, teach a dog basic obedience and retrieving skills, be introduced to birds, gunfire, water and retrieving, learn basic firearm safety, shoot trap, participate in a simulated duck hunt, participate in a mentored pheasant hunt, clean game birds and, enjoy a “game bird” dinner!
All for only $50 per person
This nine-week course begins Tuesday, August 6th at 6:00pm
at the North Dakota Retriever Club training grounds (8335 Highway 10, Glyndon MN, 56547)

Tuesday, August 6, 2019 – Intro to hunting in Minnesota, Developing Retrieving Instinct, “The Walk”, Retriever Training equipment, self-paced Retriever Training DVDs and book.
Tuesday, August 13, 2019 – Building Retrieving desire and introduction to gunfire
Tuesday, August 20, 2019 – Building Retrieving desire, Retriever intro to game birds, water and variety of field cover
Tuesday, August 27, 2019 – Basic Obedience, intro to land and water decoys, single retrieves on land and water
Tuesday, September 3, 2019 – Firearm Safety, Shotgun Basics and shooting trap
Tuesday, September 10, 2019 – Individualized, mentored coaching for specific hunter and/or dog issues
Tuesday, September 17, 2019 – Retrieving on land and water, Where and how to hunt waterfowl and upland birds.
Tuesday, September 24, 2019 – Participants use dogs to retrieve ducks in a simulated duck hunt. Participants handle, clean and cook game for a duck & pheasant “Game” dinner
Saturday, October 5, 2019 – Pheasant hunt at game farm – hunters use their own trained dogs or mentor dogs to hunt and retrieve downed birds. Hunters handle, clean and package pheasant meat for storage.
